Love is in your hands

Make Your Own Wedding Bands

Your wedding bands should be as personal as your love story. In this immersive workshop, you’ll carve your rings by hand—shaping your story into something lasting using a centuries-old technique. With step-by-step instruction from our jewelers, you’ll leave with rings that are meaningful, handmade, and entirely yours.

Our Process

Reflect

Before we touch tools, we start with what matters: you two–the moments that define your relationship, the inside jokes, the favorite hikes, the late-night takeout orders, the places you’ve called home. Whether you bring a full Pinterest board or just a feeling, we’ll help you shape it into form & shape.

Carve

Using the ancient lost wax casting technique, you’ll hand-carve your ring from a block of wax with us guiding you every step of the way. You’ll literally shape your ring, your way. Whether it’s bold and sculptural or minimal and smooth, it’ll carry the imprint of your hands and your heart.

Create

After carving, we’ll cast your rings in the metal of your choice. Our team takes the lead here (with your help if you'd like), ensuring your finished rings are not only meaningful but professionally cast to last a lifetime. After casting, it’s back to the bench for clean-up and final finish

Wrap up

If you designed your ring to include stones, we'll set them shortly after your workshop. If you opted for a metal-only band, you’ll leave that day with your finished ring boxed up and in hand.

What our Customers Say

Working with Betsy and Ella was a dream. We had so much fun and connected to each other and our rings more than we expected during the process. Annnnnd, we looooove our wedding bands.

More Details

Your payment at booking covers all instruction and materials needed for most metal-only wedding bands in the metal you've selected, up to a metal weight of ___ per ring with no set stones, which is typically ___ mm wide band in a size ___. If you choose to build a ring heavier than ___, we'll quote you for the additional metal before casting. Metal prices vary depending on market pricing, but you can expect about ___ per pennyweight.

We can help you keep your wax carving under the "additional metal" threshold as you do the workshop.

Stone-setting is available! We'll work with you before the workshop to secure several stones that you can choose from during the workshop. We'll invoice you separately for the stones you pick, which will include a stone setting fee.

During the workshop, we’ll guide you in preparing your ring for stones. After casting and initial clean up, we’ll set them for you in the days following the workshop.

Platinum is available via off-site casting done after your workshop for a surcharge, quoted ahead of time.

We cast all karats of gold and palladium in-house during your workshop. Platinum is cast off-site, with options to return for the finishing yourself or have our team do it. (No extra charge for either—just what works best for you.)

You may bring as many participants as rings you've booked to make. All workshops are private—it's just you and your people in the studio with us.

We will provide all safety gear needed for the workshop except closed-toed shoes, which are required. Carving wax can be a little messy (think: cookie dough, not oil spill). Wear something comfy that you wouldn’t mind getting a bit of wax dust on.

The Reflect and Carve portion takes place on Day 1 and usually runs 5–6 hours depending on your design. We’ll keep you on track to make sure it’s doable in the time allowed.

Gold or Palladium (no stones): After your carve, we’ll prep your wax for overnight burnout. On Day 2, you’ll return for casting and then move into clean-up and final finish (about 2-3 hours).

Platinum (no stones): Your wax will be sent for off-site casting after Day 1. We’ll coordinate the timing and either finish it for you or schedule a time for you to return to do that yourself.

Any ring with stones: After your carve and casting (in-house or off-site), we’ll finish your ring and set your stones. We’ll notify you when it’s ready for pickup.

You don’t need to have made jewelry before to enjoy—and complete—this workshop. But if you truly feel clumsy or uncomfortable working with your hands, this may not be your ideal fit. The best experience comes when you bring decent fine motor skills and a love for the creative process—setbacks, problem-solving, do-overs, and all.

If you’ve ever made jewelry and loved it, you’re golden. But even if you haven’t, think about whether you enjoy things like painting, drawing, pottery, origami, LEGOs, calligraphy, playing an instrument (especially piano or guitar), handwriting notes, embroidery, sewing, makeup, or nail art. Those are all signs your hands (and brain!) are likely to thrive in this space.

You’ll be sitting at a workbench for most of the workshop, with plenty of stretch breaks, so you’ll need to be comfortable staying focused while seated for a few hours at a time.

Ultimately, this workshop is for people who learn by doing, who don’t panic if things don’t go right the first time, and who find joy in the process—not just the finished product.

Absolutely. You can match as much or as little as you like—shape, metal, texture, or just the vibe. We’ll help you translate that into complementary designs.

That’s beautiful, too. You don’t need to be planning a wedding to celebrate your connection. Many people come to mark anniversaries, commitments, or meaningful milestones.

You can’t. That’s part of the process. If something goes wildly off-course, we’ll help troubleshoot or start over. But we promise: the imperfections are often what make these rings magic.

Don’t worry—we’re here to guide you through every step, and we build in plenty of time to help you finish. Most people complete their carving on Day 1 and their clean up and finish work on Day 2. That said, if you need a little more time, we’ve got options.

We may offer you extra studio time (depending on availability) or suggest that we finish certain steps for you in-house. If additional work is needed beyond what’s typical for the workshop, we’ll always discuss it with you in advance and let you know if any extra costs apply.

Our goal is to make sure you walk away with a ring you love—and a process you loved being part of.

We are happy to accommodate rescheduling as our schedule allows. You can always peek at our current calendar by choosing "Now – I’m ready to choose a date" in the final dropdown and clicking "Select a Time." Don't worry—you won't be charged for browsing.

Cancellations:

  • Cancel 10 or more days before your workshop for a full refund.
  • Cancel 4-9 days before and receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made 3 days or fewer before your workshop are non-refundable.

Please note: We do not issue refunds for partially completed workshops or rings that use less-than-average amounts of metal.

Absolutely—just make sure your recipient has a little flexibility and you give us enough lead time. It’s generally safe to gift this experience when:

  • There are at least 8 weeks between the day you plan to give the gift and any hard deadlines (like a wedding date).
  • Your recipient is reasonably available on the days we offer workshops. To check our schedule, select “Now – I’m ready to choose a date” in the final dropdown and click “Select a Time.” Don’t worry—you won’t be charged for looking at the calendar.

Here's how to do it:

  • Peek at our availability to make sure the dates work.
  • Switch the final dropdown back to “Later – The recipient will choose the date” to proceed without booking a time.
  • Confirm the options you’d like to gift (number of rings, metal type if you know it). No pressure to get everything perfect—we can update the details later and invoice you or your recipient accordingly.
  • When you indicate it’s a gift, we won’t prompt you to pick a date. Instead, we’ll mail a gift package to you or your recipient with all the info they’ll need—including how to schedule their workshop.
