We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the following position:

  • +FULL-TIME SALES ASSOCIATE

    You'll work in our Portland retail shop, delivering exceptional service to customers who love our brand and products as much as you do.

    You will be expected to:
    • Be the positive, inviting, helpful face for the betsy & iya shop and brand
    • Help customers find what they’re looking for by listening to their needs
    • Put jewelry, accessories, and clothing together to fit customers’ style preferences
    • Confidently provide honest feedback regarding style and fit of jewelry and clothing
    • Be open to on-going learning about our products, policies, and services
    • Make decisions based on knowledge of policies and know when to seek help
    • Work with a team
    • Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked, accessible, and attractive shop environment
    • Comfortably use or learn to use a computerized point of sale system
    • Be able to carry boxes that weigh up to 35 lbs., use step stools/ladders to retrieve backstock, climb stairs to retrieve backstock multiple times a day

    Relevant applicable experience (providing consistently awesome customer service, preferably in a retail/fashion/accessories environment) is a must. Experience selling/working with jewelry, especially fine jewelry, is a major plus. If you are offered the job, you will be required to sign a Proprietary Information, Invention Assignment, and Non-Solicitation Agreement as a condition of employment. This position is solely on the sales floor - jewelry production is not a part of this position.

    The right candidate will be able to:
    • Work a consistent schedule that generally does not vary from week to week
    • Occasionally pick up additional shifts (sometimes after typical shop hours) in order to work special events or cover for coworkers
    • Set up, work, and break down occasional off-site events
    • Work consistent shifts during the holiday season from mid-November to December 24 as well as the week following Christmas. Time off during these time periods is not impossible, but is considered only if sufficient shift coverage can be arranged.
    • Master multiple systems with many layers related to our point of sale system, inventory tracking, pulling goods for online orders, customer communication, etc.

    • Proven to provide excellent customer service in previous work environments
    • Able to multi-task and be adaptable to change

    Minimum requirement of 15 hours per week with the potential for more based on your availability. This position is solely on the sales floor - jewelry production is not a part of this position. Experience selling/working with jewelry, especially fine jewelry, is a major plus. This position could grow into full-time if there is interest and a business need. If you are offered the job, you will be required to sign a Proprietary Information, Invention Assignment, and Non-Solicitation Agreement as a condition of employment.

    The right candidate will be able to:
    • Work a schedule that includes shifts on at least one weekend day plus other days of the week depending on your availability. We have shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, along with a few weekday fill-ins available.

    • Access transportation that will allow for transporting goods to occasional off-site events
