Jao Brand

Born of necessity and totally original, Jao products are the artful synthesis of ancient pharmacopoeia and modern science, retro package design and global cool. Jao Ltd. is the creation of Gale Mayron, a daughter who got lucky enough to have an amazing chemist for a father. Mayron uses only the very best ingredients in her innovative, niche brand products. Jao Brand products are both masculine/feminine and multipurpose. They don't believe in lots of products to take up shelf space and clutter. The less you buy, the less you consume, the less you throw away, is the mantra of their business.

Jao Brand

Since 1994 Gale Mayron has been experimenting with perfecting skincare basics: cleansers and moisturizers. Jao's signature Hand Refresher was a loving collaboration between her and her father and has since grown in a cult favorite.

Jao is the intersection where traditional chemistry and ancient botanicals meet: the science of plants is harnessed into effective skincare. Channeling her chemist roots, no stone has been left unturned when it comes to ingredient transparency.

Jao's apothecary line is formulated and produced at their in-house labs in Pennsylvania, and all other production and packaging is sourced from local, small businesses along the East Coast.
