Anchal, a nonprofit design collective, was founded by sisters Colleen and Maggie Clines, artists who were inspired to fight exploitation of women in the commercial sex trade and the impact fast fashion has on the environment.
Anchal does so much more than create beautiful goods: they build community through sustainable and ethical employment practices. The financial independence gained by the women who craft these textiles allows them to break cycles of harm.
Sisters Maggie and Colleen Clines partner closely with Indian organizations that oversee all operations to ensure the careers in textiles serve the absolute highest, longterm good for all women employed.
The women who create these beautiful, unique textiles have so much more than a creative career in fashion: they have safe housing, healthcare, clean water and food, and access to education for themselves and their children.
