“I just want people to feel like their needs are addressed and that they feel loved,” says Rebecca Biederman.
She's the woman behind Uncommon Yarrow, a massage and skincare spa just down the street from our shop. We thought Rebecca might be able to teach us a thing or two about self care during this busy (and often stressful) time of year.

It’s inspiring to hear Rebecca talk about her work. She sees self care as the ultimate way to connect with and to nurture your body and soul. She focuses on helping people slow down enough to hear what their bodies are telling them.
“Self care is a way of communicating with yourself” she says. “Our bodies and our skin are always trying to tell us something.”
“There should be less focusing on what you’re ‘supposed’ to look like and more focusing on bringing out the natural beauty that you already have.”
Rebecca is passionate about helping women. As she tells us about her treatment philosophy, we don't find her spouting anti-aging tips.
And what does the woman who spends her day caring for other people’s bodies and skin do to take care of herself? She practices what preaches; she is a huge proponent of the work she does and regularly seeks it out from others. She surrounds herself with the things she loves most. Her space is warm and painted the loveliest shade of green, filled with lush plants, beautiful textiles and handmade objects.
You can see her passion in the way she talks about her work and feel it in the way her hands touch your skin. Her goals is that each client leaves feeling like they were well loved and cared for, and it only takes a few moments with Rebecca to see that this is not only her passion but also her purpose.
“Self care is a way of communicating with yourself. Our bodies and our skin are always trying to tell us something.”
