The lookbook for betsy & iya's Unu Collection is live! View the whole gorgeous thing online here. Released in Fall 2015, the 17-piece Unu Collection features earrings, necklaces, rings, and bangles in sterling silver, 14k gold-fill, brass, and bronze, as well as incorporating hand-spun fibers and colorful cord. The accompanying lookbook is a powerhouse of bold color, dramatic hair dos, and obviously, tons of jewelry. 
I love this mock-up of the lookbook Betsy created to give to our photographer, Elizabeth Rudge, to illustrate her vision. These ladies are sassy and stylin', right?! Since the Unu Collection is simple, Betsy created contrast by putting the two different models in front of bold, colorful backgrounds. The models' chic hairdos and saturated lips make the jewelry stand out even more. 
Once we got the photos back from Elizabeth, Betsy & Will printed out the lookbook images and began the process of arranging them. They were like super fashion-y puzzle pieces that were moved around several ways before deciding their eventual placement. 
“I always like demolishing boundaries,” said Betsy, when I asked her about the inspiration for this shoot. “No one should ever say that he/she can’t wear a certain style, like a large hoop earring or a bold necklace. Nope. You can, and that’s what I wanted to show with this collection and lookbook.” Can I get a "YOU GO GIRL" right now?! I love the idea of using jewelry as a means toward positive self expression. Challenge norms, push boundaries, and always, add one more piece of jewelry.
