Did you ever keep a New Year’s resolution? I'm not sure if I've ever made an actual resolution. I typically use the New Year to set new intentions and basically just hit the reset button to take a look at everything I'm doing with my life. I usually do (at least partially) fulfill those– things like, find a better work/life balance (answer: commit to a two-day weekend). This happened a few years ago and it was life changing. I would be lying if I said I never work on the weekends, but I truly do try to keep it light.

Share a description of your favorite material object that you already own? I'm very fond of the engagement ring that my husband had made for me. He combined my grandmother's band with his grandmother's stone. Every single day, it reminds me of the best friendship that I'm so lucky to have and the beautiful families that we come from.

Share a description of your favorite material object that you already own? My favorite thing I own is my Grandma's jewelry box. It's what we would now consider vintage, but was bought brand new sometime in the fifties, with a mirror tray top for displaying perfume bottles and cosmetics, and two long, shallow drawers. Over her lifetime she filled it with colorful costume jewelry, small notebooks filled with shopping lists, odds and ends she picked up while beach combing, and best of all, a pair of horn-rimmed prescription glasses circa 1960. When she passed, the rest of my family cleaned it out of all the "valuable" items, and I was allowed to keep the box and all the stuff nobody else thought was worthwhile. It is my greatest treasure.

If you could be in the movie of your choice, what movie would you choose and what character would you play? Wow, that's a great question. Probably Good Will Hunting. Not just because I got my Doctorate in Mathematics, but because whenever my dad (Will) leaves I'm always trying to figure out where he went. Also, Robin Williams and Matt Damon, what could be a better duo?
