It's been one of the hottest summers I can remember since moving here and on super warm days, I am so grateful for breezy dresses. This vintage number is one of my absolute favorites because of the fun details: buttons up the side, multicolored stripes, and most of all, the detachable collar. Clearly, I justified this purchase by thinking that I pretty much scored two dresses for the price of one. I've said it before and I know I'll say it again "they just don't make 'em like this anymore!"
That said, I think it's necessary to mix in some modern pieces to avoid looking too costume-y. For me, that means a bold, cloisonné tassel necklace, big sunnies, and my go-to black heels. I like to think that the darker colored accessories balance the whimsy of the pastel dress. I can't be all clouds and rainbows, ya know?
