Summer Favorites: Amory.

Posted by Barrie

I knew Amory’s Summer Favorites post would be good because this girl knows how to take advantage of good weather and sunny days! Take a look:

Favorite color for Summer

Summer Favorites_Amory

>>Artichoke.  Why can’t a vegetable be your favorite color? Why pick one color when I can have a glorious spectrum of cool colors?

Favorite seasonal fruit(s) and/or vegetable(s)

Summer Favorites_Amory2

>>Raspberries & blueberries.  Sweet, irresistible packages of portable goodness.

What song(s)/Artist(s) are on your Summer playlist?

Summer Favorites_Amory3

>>Radiolab, Blame it on the Girls by Mika, and Get Lucky by Daft Punk.  Who doesn’t like learning about awesomeness like the mantis shrimp (who own the proud title of Most Complex Eyes in the Animal Kingdom), then throw a lil dance party?

Favorite restaurant to sit outside of

Summer Favorites_Amory4

>>There’s a small green space across the street from Sweedeedee’s.  This genius brunch spot gives you a blanket, and brings you brunch in the park.  Love.

Favorite activity

In case you were wondering, yes, that is our Amory scaling that rock in the middle. How high up is she exactly?

>>Climbing.  I’ve been climbing for years, but have found new energy and focus this past year.  Most weekends you’ll find me on some rock face.

Favorite Summer smell(s)

Summer Favorites_Amory6

>>The smell of rain-kissed pavement & the rawness of organic matter decomposing in the woods. *Let the record show that Amory has already mentioned Petrichor in our Fall Favorites post. It must be an all year favorite smell to her.*

Ultimate Summer vacation destination

Summer Favorites_Amory7

>>Kauai.  It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.  I’d love to go there on vacation instead of for work next time :).

Create a map of your ultimate summer road trip. Where are you stopping and why?

Summer Favorites_Amory8

Over 3500 miles? Now THAT’S what I call a road trip!

>>Climbing road trip with some music and touring thrown in: Leavenworth, Squamish, Bugaboos, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Creek, Red Rocks Nevada, Yosemite, San Francisco, then up the 101 back to Portland.

Am, next time you take a vacation (road trip or Kauai) can I come too???
