Wait. Wait, wait, wait, HOLD UP...wait. Thanksgiving is 1 week away from today? nooo, no, NO, no... couldn't be. Surely you mean to add a zero to the end of that number. hahaha. HAHA. hahahaha. HA.
WHAT THE WHAT!?! I'm not sure if it was our extended summer, taking on too many projects, or just simply getting older, but this holiday season has absolutely crept around the corner and jumped out in front of my face. "GOTCHA!!!!" it said, startling me in such a way that I tripped over my heels, drew lipstick down my chin, dropped my towel, spilled my coffee, and had to grip the wall to gather myself and stop trembling. Whichever way you look at it, it's here, y'all--and we plan on making more than the most of it. Boiiii, do we have some seriously awesome things up our sleeves for you! The first: Little Boxes. Last year, Will and I dreamed up Little Boxes in 3 weeks; it was a massive success. This year we're pulling out all the stops. We've almost doubled in size with 170 local shops participating. We've got more prizes, more ways to enter the raffle, more days, more neighborhoods, and more local love. What: Little Boxes, A Different Way to Shop Black Friday. When: November 23rd + 24th (Black Friday and Small Business Saturday) Where: Portland's Little Boxes. How: Full details on how to play here. Shopping in Portland’s Little Boxes on Black Friday and Saturday (and throughout the holiday season and year) is an alternative to the hubbub of the big box stores. It’s a great way to find meaningful, unique gifts for everyone on your list, enjoy the hospitality and warmth of Portland’s independently owned neighborhood shops, have fun with your family and friends, and--- just maybe – win some incredible prizes, just by taking a stroll in Portland’s best shopping districts. To us, Little Boxes is much much more than an event--it's about celebrating this rich, vital, inspiring community we are so fortunate to be a part of. We love our town, we love our community, and we're all coming together to shine a bright, beautiful, twinkling spotlight on our very alive Portland. Love to all~betsy ***Song of the Moment: Run This Town, by Jay-Z, Rhianna, and Kanye West***
